Poker Game Rule

Poker is played in a clockwise direction around the table. Each player begins the game with a sum of money called their “Stack”. The table’s dealer is shown by a “button”
The button passes from player to player in a clockwise direction after each game of poker.

The two players seated to the left of the dealer each place a forced bet known as a “blind”. Moving in a clockwise direction around the table, the players take it in turns to bid and state their intentions. When it’s your turn to bid, you must choose one of the following options:

• Check = To refrain from betting, but remain in the game. This is possible so long as none of the other players has yet placed a bet (opened)

• Bet/Open = To be the first to bet

• Call = To bet the same amount as the player that opened in order to remain in the game

• Raise = To increase the size of the most recent bet

• Re-raise = To raise a raise

• Fold = To drop out of the game and therefore abandon any claim to the bets that have already been placed in the pot during previous bidding rounds.

Each of the bidding rounds ends once all of the remaining players in the game have bet the same amount.

If none of the other players follows or raises your bet, you win the pot (all of the money wagered during the game). You may then decide whether or not to show your cards to the other players.

If several players are still in the game at the end of the final bidding round, the hands are compared and the winner of the poker game is the player with the strongest hand: i.e. with the best combination of five cards out of the seven that are available (5 community cards and 2 hole cards).

This completes the hand and the dealer’s button passes on to the next player (in a clockwise direction). A new game of poker can then begin.
